Billy Joel is a beloved piano player and singer songwriter. But, boat aficionados know him for his other passion — a serial boat owner and this gorgeous 2005 custom 57 Vendetta cruiser he co-created with naval architect Doug Zurn of Zurn Yacht Designs and Coecles Harbor Marine ship yard.
Vendetta’s design cues came from the torpedo-boat sterns of classic Long Island commuters, blended with a resin-infused Kevlar-and-Corecell foam composite build.
Joel used Vendetta to cruise to and from Long Island Sound harbors and commuting to Manhattan, before donating her to SeaKeepers Society as a fundraiser in 2016.
Two new owners on the West Coast were the high bidders and subsequently transported Vendetta to Newport Beach and embarked on a refit. They partnered up once again with Zurn for design muscle and used the Newport Harbor Shipyard for craftsmanship.
The refit resulted in a stunning updated interior and exterior as well as better low speed performance and added space and more seating.
Now we can’t wait to see Joel’s next tour and boat project.
