IWC Yacht Club Watch, A 1976 Vintage

We found this IWC Gentleman’s Yacht Club watch being offered for auction by Fellows Auctioneers.   This classic automatic has an 18ct yellow gold case and was imported from London in 1976.  She has a Champagne dial with baton hour markers, the national emblem of Oman at the nine, and a date aperture at the three.  The case is 36mm in size and is fitted to a signed 18ct yellow gold bracelet with folding clasp at a total weight of 136gms.  And yes, we can’t help but love the fish on the crown.

Fellows has an estimated price range is $2500-$3700.  Go to Classic Driver to bid live on the 24th.

Panerai 42mm Luminor Submersible Watch

Panerai 42mm Luminor Submersible

There’s something very satisfying about a multifunction waterproof sports watch designed specifically for life on board your boat – and the more advanced our wearable technology becomes, the more exciting sailing watches get. You can now buy a digital watch with perpetually accurate radio-controlled time, plus tidal data, barometric pressure, temperature, compass bearing, Bluetooth-compatibility and even a depth gauge facility. But we continue to have a soft spot for analogue watches that do nothing but tell the time.

We’ve always liked Panerai’s aesthetic and diving design. The Luminor Submersible is readily found in both the 44mm and 47mm sizes.  However, this 42mm limited edition makes it more accessible and appealing for every day active wear on the boat.  This model is only available direct from Panerai and costs $8,700.
