Custom Mason 47′ Ketch

CREST is a special find. Designed by world-renown marine architect Al Mason and handcrafted by the original owners, CREST has been a home, a place to raise a family on the water, and a life long adventure for the owners/builders. While she has the classic stylings of a wooden boat, her heavily constructed fiberglass hull reduces maintenance and carries the ketch rig well.

Designed as a capable extended cruiser, CREST features a three-cabin layout with two heads and includes a workshop in the bow. Her three-cabin layout with three berths forward, two in the main cabin and two in the aft cabin provides comfortable accommodations for seven.

Her minimum shoal draft enables CREST to visit many cruising areas normally inaccessible to vessels of her size. She is economical to operate under power, cruising at 8 ¾ mph, using less than 2 gallons of fuel per hour. For the traditional cruising sailor looking to sail in comfort and make a bold statement in every harbor, CREST is worthy of your inspection. She’s listed by RCR Yachts for $88,000 USD in Rochester, New York.

Saetta Custom Classic

A 2010 Saetta Classic

We found a truly one of a kind in Sarasota, FL. Built in the USA by Kimbell Aviation, this 20′ sweetheart started with a conversation between Bill Scheunemann and Kevin Kimball (whom are aircraft engineers) about a common passion of vintage classic wooden boats. After tossing around the idea of working together to create a new but vintage looking boat, Tom Drake began to work building the boat becoming the primary builder. The Italian Designer Mirco Pecorari joined the team of engineers to help with the styling and detail of the boat.

Saetta Boat

While truly custom, this boat’s styling embodies the shapes and elements of classic wooden boats but with a bit more curve, and modern touches. She has a 3 epoxy system making it a No-Soak boat made of Honduran Mahogany and Birch Chinking. There is a Glassurit clear coat over the epoxy finish Porsche/ Mercedes paint. And what’s there not to love about the two tone brown and white seats.

A Custom Launch Limo

This stunning 30′ custom launch was designed by Andrew Wolstenholme and built by craftsmen at Henwood and Dean Boatbuilders.  She resembles a 1930 launch in style and comfort but with a fast displacement hull capable of close to 18 knots.  Her air conditioned leather cabin interior and elegant lines are reminiscent of Venetian taxi launches.  We can see her taxiing guests across Lake Como or the Venetian Lido in leisurely style.

The hull construction is Westerd red cedar strip planking.  Above the waterline the planking is in African mahogany. The stem is of English oak, the keel in African iroko and the hog, fore and aft deadwoods and shaft log in utile. The deck is mahogany marine plywood.

Within the cabin the craftsmen used beaded tongue and groove Alaskan yellow cedar. All electrical wiring is artfully concealed.  It’s equipped with a fridge, VHF, Garmin GPS and a Cruisair DC air conditioning unit.

She’s powered by a Yanmar JH4 engine coupled with an Aquadrive unit for quiet and smooth running while the Vetus bow thruster allows for nice maneuvering.

This beauty is located on the Thames River and you can buy her for £100K at Henley.
