SHEARWATER is a lovely 41 ft 1966 Rhodes Reliant that has been almost completely rebuilt since her owner purchased the boat in 2000 – with over $300,000 spent on rebuilds and upgrades. She now sports a new Yanmar engine, new refrigeration system, new galley countertops and a new fuel tank among many other improvements.
Most importantly she has all new decks with new core, glass, Awlgrip and nonskid. Her brightwork has been lovingly redone, and looks as good as ever. But the owner claims that the best thing about her by far is how well she sails.
SHEARWATER’s masts are aluminum but painted to look like wood and they blend in beautifully with the boat. She’s well prepared for shorthanded sailing, with heavy winches everywhere and she’s been upgraded with recent electronics and furlers.
This is a timeless classic in superb condition, upgraded for more modern and safe sailing. She’s listed at $125K by Curtis Stokes Yachts and is available for inspection.
