Mollymawk is a truly special 30′ classic cruiser, a Morris Annie, designed by legend Chuck Paine and built by Tom Morris at Morris Yachts. As a testament to the build quality and seaworthiness of the Annie, Tom Morris owned and sailed hull #1 and Chuck Paine owned and sailed hull #2. Mollymawk is hull #3.
In 2013 she underwent a 6-month comprehensive restoration under the direction of Jean Beaulieu at Classic Boat Shop in Maine, with over $150K in improvements. This was followed in 2016 by a repower by Full Keel Marine in Rhode Island, custom cushions and a Fairclough winter cover. As Morris Yachts puts it, “There is nothing more to add.”
Mollymawk is said to sail “like a dream” and has the proven ability to journey the oceans, having twice transited to Bermuda and the Caribbean.
Her interior is Herreshoff style with extraordinary attention to detail. She sleeps up to three adults comfortably in a large quarterberth, starboard settee with cloth, and starboard v-berth. There is room for an additional two children in the port settee and port v-berth (which could be modified to accommodate a fourth adult). The interior is bright and there is stowage for longer voyages.
She comes equipped with an Autohelm tiller autopilot, and mounting brackets for the Monitor wind vane self-steering gear, which is included in the sale although not currently installed at the transom. She comes with a full sail complement.
