Luna is a Manuel Campos-designed ketch built by Argentinian Ortholan Shipyard in 1941 using Lapacho, an Argentinian/Paraguayan Ipe known to be incredibly durable, dense and rot resistant. Luna’s stately design has some serious old world charm with recent updates to her systems including bow thruster and electrical system to improve handling and reduce maintenance.
Luna possesses a Jones Act exemption and can be operated as a charter vessel in the United States, and much work has been done towards obtaining a USCG Certificate of Inspection. The American Bureau of Shipping has measure her length at 64.96 feet. She would be a distinctive and attractive charter or private yacht. Hauled in May of 2016 and fully surveyed, her condition is well documented.
