SKYE is a 1989 Nautor’s Swan 53 that was custom built for a famous (unnamed) Australian yachtsman. Modifications include a deeper draft keel and a taller rig, intended to improve upon the model’s already impressive performance characteristics and overall balance. Designed by German Frers, the 53 boasts a very comfortable owner state room aft and three guest cabins, with gorgeous detailing throughout.
SKYE underwent a major refit in 2012-2014, including Awlgrip topsides, new teak decks, winches, rod rigging and much more. She sports her original Volvo Penta 99hp diesel (hours unmentioned) and a fairly standard array of electronics and navigation, with the added comforts of air-conditioning.
Interior photos demonstrate her well cared for condition, with a generous wraparound settee, full navigation station, 3 separate cabins, two heads and a well-sized galley.
Registered in the Netherlands and lying in Malta, she’s listed by De Valk for $358,000 USD.
