“Built by Nautor Swan and designed by Sparkman & Stephens.” This is certainly one of the better things you can say about a boat. Every time we find and post a special S&S Swan we get a ton of interest, and this one should be no exception. Purchased in 2010 by a fastidious lover of nautical icons, she has undergone intensive restoration work. And it shows.
Her teak decks have been completely renovated, as have the cabinetry belowdecks. All hatches have been replaced with replications of the original. Her galley has been updated with a new oven, microwave, stainless counter, new refrigerator and freezer.
Soon after her current owner took acquisition, this Swan received a new Yanmar 110hp diesel and a new Kohler generator, as well as air conditioning. The spars were restored and painted, and the hull and topsides were repainted. She was updated with a new MaxPro 3 blade prop and all new electric system. Her electronics were upgraded as well, with SIMRAD nav instruments, AIS, radar, GPS/Plotter, depth sounder, wind and autopilot.
She has a suite of new sails and Northman rigging, with back stay isolation for SSM antenna. She’s also received recent bimini and cockpit upholstery.
Listed at $170K Euros in Rio de Janiero, she is certainly one to look at if you’re interested in a timeless classic that’s been thoroughly updated for modern cruising.
