Designed by William H. Shaw and built by Pearson Yachts in 1980, this is a fully custom 36′ pilothouse that has clearly been well maintained and thoroughly updated.
Improvements include a completely re-finished interior, new AJR commercial grade windows, a restructured pilothouse for offshore sailing, new standing rigging, winches, windlass, teak comings, 60 HP Kubota with New Twin Disc Transmission, electronics and well, really, the list is too long to capture here.
Designer William H. Shaw cut his teeth at Sparkman & Stephens before becoming the longtime Chief Naval Architect at Pearson Yachts, where he oversaw the design and production of over 50 yacht designs. He reportedly got the gig when parent company, Grumman, grew tired of paying his predecessor Carl Alberg his high royalties during the success of his tenure at Pearson. Shaw’s designs were just as popular. They’re known for being very safe and robust, if fairly conservative in their design and they hold a large and faithful following to this day.
The photos of the interior in particular demonstrate a high quality refit, with a warm and inviting cabin. Inside and out, this boat has clearly been loved. And well set up for many more adventures.
Currently listed in British Columbia for $77K.
