Only 47 of these Cape Dory motorsailers, the MS 300s, were built between the years of 1985 and 1990. And this one, Soltstice, is a real beauty. These models all featured pilot houses, and unlike many similar designs, they maintain their aesthetic balance quite well. Designed by Clive Dent, the Cape Dory MS 300 carries as much sail area as pure sailboats of the same size, and are known to point and sail just as well. Solstice underwent a major refit in 2009, and has benefitted from a life of quality care and continuous upgrades.
She’s powered by a Westerbeke W46, with rebuilt Hurth V-Drive and recent batteries. She has a full battened main with stack pack, a roller furled jib with a Pro-Furl, and a Raymarine below-deck autopilot.
These MS300s are relatively hard to find and are certainly rare in this combination. We love her blue topsides and how they pair with the beautiful warm teak wood work. Soltstice is ready for some serious island hopping.
She is currently listed at $49,500 in Florida.
