A Joel White Merlot

Here we have a customized 2005 Bridges Point 24 sailboat Merlot, another gorgeous Joel White design. This is a sister ship to the designer’s original Bridges Point 24 hull #1, Elisha. These are great sailing daysailers with full keels and a cuddy cabin that serves as an adequate overnighter.

Merlot is fully-equipped with freshwater washdown system, depth and wind instruments, chart plotter and VHF radio, with a 10hp Yanmar diesel with very few hours. She is modernized with a carbon fiber mast and boom, Haarstick mainsail and jib, plus an asymmetrical spinnaker. She even comes equipped with a four wheel Triad trailer and PVC frame for winter coverage.

The Bridges Point 24 is very much on our hope-to-have list and is a fine example of the spirited body of work by naval architect (and son of E.B. White!) Joel White of Brooklin, Maine (1930-1997). These sloop-rigged sailboats are known to be quick, easy to sail, safe and super fun. Aren’t they just gorgeous? Swoon.

Merlot is in Spruce Head, Maine and you can find here here on Craigslist.
